How Long Have You Been Handling Courier or Delivery Services?
We have been trading as Aline Logistics for the last 17 years. Prior to this we spent 2 years as Freight Auditors and before this we owned and ran the Amtrak Express Parcels Franchise throughout Gloucestershire for 10 years.
What Sort of Training Program Have Your Drivers/Dispatchers Received?
Our own collection drivers are experienced and well trained before being allowed to collect and handle our customers items. They are trained to be courteous and respectful when on a customer’s site following rules set out. We only contract highly reputable networks for overnight and international deliveries and only use qualified drivers for direct door to door deliveries.
What Is Your Responsiveness to Customer Requests/Needs?
Nobody wants to regret selecting a company that isn’t responsive to customer needs. So, whether you are a retailer or manufacturer wishing to deliver goods to the final consumer, or a vendor that urgently needs to convey some paperwork to a client, you should only deal with a company that is proven to be responsive to consumer needs. At Aline we put customer response times at the top of our priority list.
What Technology Do You Adopt?
All Overnight and International deliveries are bar coded and tracked at every transition point to maintain transparency. All direct door to door deliveries are tracked either by vehicle tracker or by mobile communications. Proof of deliveries are emailed via our internal Indigo Software which also raises invoices and quotes. Our statements and accounting processes are all handled by Sage 50 Cloud.
What Delivery Options Do You Offer?
This depends on what your delivery is, where it’s going and how quickly you want it to arrive at its destination. The most cost-effective delivery is by using an overnight service which can also include timed delivery options such as before 9.30am, 10.30am or 12 noon. Our Freight Forwarding service deals with all offshore deliveries and paperwork. Our direct door to door service is guaranteed to provide a dedicated vehicle and driver just for your delivery. Our overnight pallet service is designed for one off pallets of bulky items too big or heavy to go via a normal courier network.
How Does Your Pricing Compare to other Companies?
Pricing in the courier/logistics sector is highly complex and our previous operating experience as Freight Auditors enables us to analyse a customer’s traffic profile and select the best pricing option to meet their needs. We are unique in that we can offer multiple pricing options to an individual customer which includes a single parcel rate along with a multiple consignment rate using the most cost-effective kilo break. Additional discounts are available based on collection times and volumes being sent.
Why should I pick you over Your Competitors?
As a local independent firm, we must be customer centric to compete. This simply means we work very hard to put our individual customer’s needs at the centre of everything we do. This means all our operating practices are reviewed on a weekly basis to ensure all queries or rare process failures are resolved with permanent solutions (this may require more training or operational changes). Our size means we can be flexible and quickly adapt to changing circumstances. We can select any one of a number of major delivery networks to deliver a consignment where others can’t. We can offer pricing structures to suit you. We don’t use salespeople who are commission based and may exaggerate the positives and minimise the negatives to gain your business. We will never fail to collect your parcels because you will have a regular collection driver you get to know.
We check your item is on schedule for delivery throughout the day and notify you of any delays, paying particular attention to timed deliveries. Our competitors expect you to keep an eye on your own deliveries and then spend all day trying to get answers (this won’t happen with Aline as we will keep you informed).
What are your working hours?
Our working hours are 24/7. Our phones are manned 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday but outside of these ours we monitor our emails constantly to ensure anything urgent or important isn’t missed.

Are you insured?
Yes, we have Goods in Transit Insurance for both our local collections and deliveries throughout independent networks. For our direct door-to-door deliveries we only use contracted drivers who have to provide proof of GIT insurance annually. (Full details of cover are available within our terms and conditions).
